Cloudland Connector Trail: Instructions on Passing Through Lula Lake's Core Preserve
A permit is required to connect through Lula Lake Land Trust’s Core Preserve via mountain bike or by foot.

The Cloudland Connector Trail is a 26 mile trail that connects the western end of the Moonshine Trail system to Cloudland Canyon State Park. While there is no permit required to recreate on the Moonshine Trail network portion of this long-distance trail, a permit IS required for this long-distance trail connecting through Lula Lake Land Trust’s Core Preserve property. Permits can be used during any Open Gate/Public Access Days (first and last weekends of each month).
Permits are $5 for ONE PERSON for ONE DAY ONLY and can be used during any Open Gate/Public Access Days (first and last weekends of each month - dates listed on permit registration page). Each user MUST obtain a permit to utilize this section of trail. Users can access this portion of the long-distance trail only on LLLT's Open Gate Days between the hours of 9am-3:30pm on Saturday and 9am-3:30pm on Sunday. You cannot park your vehicle at the LLLT Core Preserve or along the roadside of Lula Lake Rd. Entry by mountain bike or by foot only. Users must stop at the LLLT kiosk to show their permit to LLLT Check-in staff. The continuance for public use of the CCT Pass Through Permit System traversing Lula Lake's Core Preserve section is dependent on the public adherence of the protocols set forth. Please be good stewards.
This permit ONLY provides access through LLLT properties. Not all landowners require permits. Users should research trail closures or permits for any other properties through which you are traveling.
The Lula Lake Core Preserve section of the CCT is very technically challenging in both directions for hikers and riders. Those who choose to explore this trail by riding your bike, anticipate several hike a bike sections and please follow proper trail etiquette by yielding to ascending hikers.
PLEASE PRINT MAP AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. The CCT pass through trail will be marked with green diamond blazes.
