2021 Lula Laker: Mountain Miler Race

The Lula Laker: Mountain Miler Race is unlike any you've ever trekked! Lula Lake's new race series continues in 2021 with the first race for conservation: The Mountain Miler! This race is designed for trail runners and mountain bikers with both 10-mile and 18-mile courses that utilize Lula Lake's famous trail systems.

Divided between two days, runners will compete on Saturday, May 15 and mountain bikers will compete on Sunday, May 16 in this socially distant, independent race.

But what is this an independent race? Simple, we have a window for start times each day, and each participant is responsible for tracking their race time through Strava GPS tracking. Show up, check-in, and hit the trails with a 5pm deadline to finish. The top 3 runners and top 3 mountain bikers will receive a one-of-a-kind trophy worthy of your Lula Laker efforts!

The Lula Laker requires a $55 registration fee to compete with optional commemorate t-shirt add-on. 100% of this fee goes directly back into LLLT’s trail work and conservation efforts. Each entrant receives a participation medallion.

Behind the Waterfall

Lula Lake Land Trust was established by the will of Mr. Robert Davenport, Sr. at his death in 1994. Since then, his children Bobby, Elliott, Eleanor and Adelaide along  with the Board of Trustees, local foundations and staff have helped to conserve over 8,000 acres on Lookout Mountain, doubled the size of Cloudland Canyon State Park, built nearly 60 miles of recreational trails spanning private, conservation, and state owned lands. Our fee owned properties are research sites for  UTC, UGA, and the State of Georgia Forestry Division as we seek to reintroduce the American Chestnut Tree while attempting to fight the Hemlock Wooly Adelgid with both chemical and biologic agents. We are in continuous pursuit of additional properties to protect and conserve within the Rock Creek and Bear Creek watersheds on Lookout Mountain. We seek to become outstanding stewards of conservation lands surrounding Chattanooga, Tennessee along with our 6 other land trust partners in the region.
